The new road user levy applies from April 2014 in UK.
The HGV Road User Levy is a charge to use UK roads. Anyone who drives or operates a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) weighing 12 tons or more will need to pay the levy – before the vehicle enters the country.
It’s easy to pay online, using a debit or credit card, fuel card (including Statoil EUROPE card) or by setting up an account. There will also be a small number of HGV Levy Point of Sale facilities, for example in some ferry terminals and fuel stations, which will take cash as well as bank and fuel card payments.
