NEW regulation affecting transport in France (Loi Macron)

As of July 1st, new requirements have been introduced in France. The new regulation called “The Macron Law” affects all transport and bus companies doing cabotage (transportation within France) or loading/unloading in France.

The new rules have three purposes:
1. To set out the formalities affecting posted driver, crew members and employees tailored to the specific needs of inland transport within France
2. To provide posted driver, crew members and employees with easier access to information about their rights
3. To strengthen enforcement in order to better combat worker posting fraud – a common unfair competitive practice that harm law-abiding firms and the rights and working conditions of posted workers.

Please be prepared before you drive to France as the fine for violating this law can reach as much as 3000 Euro! More details are available in the Official web portal and in the FAQ, in English
