German Toll requirement to be extended from 1st of July, 2015

Recently the German Bundestag passed a law which will extend the toll requirement to a further 1100 kilometres of federal trunk roads. This will take effect from 1 July 2015 and affect  vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tonnes and higher from 1 October 2015.

A provisional, non-binding list of German toll-liable federal trunk roads as of 1 July 2015, which was issued on 27 March 2015, can be found under www.bag.bund.de. After the new legislation has been finalised, the routes will be published promptly under www.mauttabelle.de. The new German toll-liable federal trunk roads will include federal trunk roads which are not directly connected to the already existing network of toll roads. A total of 44 routes are expected to be affected throughout Germany.
As of 1 October 2015, vehicles and vehicle combinations with a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tonnes and higher will be required to pay toll. In addition, the toll rates will also be changed. The toll rates consist of a partial toll rate for infrastructure and a partial toll rate for air pollution caused by trucks The partial toll rate for infrastructure is based on the axle class. They  will be extended from two to four (2, 3, 4, 5 and more axles).
Companies that travel frequently on German toll-liable federal trunk roads and/or use trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tonnes or higher are recommended to register in good before 1 October  with Toll Collect. An On-Board Unit (OBU) should also be installed for automatic toll collection.
Registering companies and vehicles is very simple. All the necessary forms can be found on the Toll Collect's website. When registering with Toll Collect, companies can choose their desired payment method, including your Statoil EUROPE card. The registration process can take up to a week. Companies should take this into account when registering themselves and their vehicles with Toll Collect. Statoil Fuel & Retail is happy to assist you with this!
